Mystery Readers

We have loved having our Mystery Readers in this year. The kids really enjoy guessing who it might be, based on the clues provided by the Mystery Reader. Here's some of our most recent Mystery Readers- ask your child about the stories they read/told!

Our Dot Project!

Our Kindergarten students have been very curious about, and interested in, dots! We have immersed ourselves in books and art focused on dots. We have had many outdoor and indoor adventures, and even celebrated with a Dot Day! Here is a Sneak Peek at what we have been doing!

Christmas Concert Information

Our school Christmas concert is coming right up! We will be making dog headbands next week, so we wanted to give a few weeks notice that your child will just need to wear “dog colours” (brown, beige, black, white) for the concert on December 10 (rehearsal) and 11 (during the day and evening performances).

The song we will be singing was attached in an email sent out to all parents.

We will introduce the song to the kids this week and will begin practising next week. If you are able to play it and sing along at home, that would be great too!

On December 10, both K groups and the grade 1’s will be going to Garden View Village to sing Christmas songs to our Senior Friends. Here is the list of songs we may be singing so that you can practise at home:

All About Bats!

Batty Patty came to teach us All About Bats today! She was very impressed by everything we already knew about bats! We loved looking at her pictures of bats, and listening to the audio recording of a bat using echolocation. We also loved exploring all of the bat materials in the classroom! Some questions that can be discussed with your child at home:

What do bats in our area eat?

How many times does a bat flap it's wings in one second?

How does echolocation work?

Which bat could sit on your thumb?

What do vampire bats bite?

What do we do if we find a bat?
