Hi Everyone!
We apologize again for not having time to post on here as of late, but despite the lack of time, we thought this was definitely worth sharing! Below is a letter from the Senior Public Engagement Specialist for the David Suzuki Foundation:
Dear Mrs. Burgess (Natasha) & the kindergarten class at
Marysville Elementary,
Your classroom was one of three chosen as winners of this
year’s 30x30 Classroom Challenge! We will mail your prize next week so that you
receive it before the end of the school year.
Thank you for sending your beautiful posters. We loved seeing
the mountains and children lying down in the grass to watch the clouds. Our team
went outside and took a picture of ourselves with your posters (below) J. We will show Dr. David Suzuki himself
when he’s in Toronto on June 24th.
We also LOVED that you asked Mrs. Burgess to spend 60 minutes
outside every day. If it’s OK, we’d like to encourage other students to take
‘mindful moments’ for next year’s 30x30 program. Thank you for inspiring us to
love nature!
Congratulations to each of you for participating in 30x30
Nature Challenge. You have inspired each one of us here at the Foundation.
Warm wishes – let’s stay in touch!

We shared the news with the kids this morning and they were so excited! They have really enjoyed their experiences outside this year, and have taught me SO much about the value of outdoor play and exploration!
