Mystery Chapter Book Revealed!

We have been reading a mystery chapter book aloud since the beginning of January. The students have really enjoyed learning about the Popper family and their beloved penguins. They have been able to retell the sections of the story as we read, and have had incredible predictions about what might happen next. We read the final pages today, and after sharing our ideas about the title, revealed the cover to discover we were reading, "Mr. Popper's Penguins". After sharing aloud, students then created a journal entry about their favourite part of the story. They were so excited to hear that this book has been made into a movie, and I told them that they might be able to convince their parents to watch it sometime over spring break :) I am now on a hunt for our next chapter book for the spring!
