Learning Stations

We have started Learning Stations in both classrooms. The students have been rotating through stations with our direction for a few weeks now, so this week, we added the Learning Station Chart to foster independence and serve as a visual for all students. This picture is an example of what the chart looks like in one classroom for this week. Throughout the week, students will travel through 4 "Must Do" stations and up to 6 "Can Do" stations in each classroom. The 4 "Must Do" stations you see here are Creation (creating our signs for the doors at Garden View Village), Fine Motor (creating poppies for the wreath at the Remembrance Day assembly this Friday), Teacher (working on numbers 1-10 and 1:1 correspondence between number cards and objects) and Science (exploring light on a projector with a variety of materials- this one is such a hit!). Students will end up doing 2 "Must Do" stations each day. Once students are finished their "Must Do" station, they move on to their "Can Do" stations (under the stars). We will let you know what stations students were working on each week in our weekly newsletters so that you can talk about them at home!
