Halloween!

We had so much fun on Halloween!
Ask your child:
  • What their favourite station was!
  • What the teachers and principal dressed up as!
  • What their favourite costume was!
  • To show you the picture of their buddy reading group and show you who their buddy reader is!

In the leaves!

On Thursday, the red group needed to take advantage of the amazing leaf piles left over from Take Me Outside day (before they were removed!).

Mrs. Burgess loved how well we all worked together outside, and all of the creative ideas we came up with!

We loved our "leaf beds"!

We then worked on burying our friends.

We needed a lot of leaves, which meant we were working hard with our rakes and wheelbarrows!

Still as still can be...

Out they jumped!

Ready...
 Throw!

We then decided to find ways to make the letter "M" or things that start with "M" out of leaves.

SAM2 performance and K1 activity

Last Friday, we enjoyed a great performance by SAM2 at McKim theatre. The instruments were all created using recycled materials from the Vancouver area, which inspired a lot of conversation about the instruments we could create. This was the first field trip of the year and the kids loved it!

making our own music in the crowd!

For K1 time on Friday, the students came together to watch a short video about living and non-living things. We had a checklist that we used outside to find out what items were living and which ones were non-living. We were stumped temporarily about leaves (on the tree vs. on the ground) and are still wondering about the sun!
