Welcome to the Wild, Wild West

We had a fabulous, fun-filled trip to Thibeault Ranch today! Our Kindergarten cowboys and cowgirls saw lots of baby animals, and pet/held a few too! We also really enjoyed playing in the hay. Ask your child about their favourite activities. Here are some pictures to spark conversation! A big thank you to the Thibeault/Grainger's for providing us with such an amazing day!

Snakes, forts, and geodes!

Our River Trip day finally arrived! In the morning, we packed up our lunches and water bottles in our adventure packs, and we were off!
The trail was so much fun!

We had a "fort break" along the way, where we were able to explore a cool fort that had been built beside the path. Many students enjoyed climbing up to the fort platform, while others enjoyed swinging and exploring the logs nearby.

Just as we arrived to the "meeting spot", we discovered a snake! We followed it's trail for a little while, but it was very good at finding hiding spots!

Exploration in this area included digging, collecting, climbing, running, dancing, taking pictures (more on that below). Students especially enjoyed exploring in the treed area, where they discovered "meteors" and "geodes". I encourage you to use these pictures as a discussion starter with your child about their day!

The time by the river flew by, and when it was time to go, we had to gear ourselves up for the steep hills.

As I told the kids, this day went down as tied for my favourite day of this year. The perseverance, wonder, teamwork and sheer joy was a delight to be part of. One of the things I loved most about this day was giving the kids some cameras to take pictures themselves. I just love seeing what they find worthy of a picture! We will view all of the pictures as a slideshow at school, but below are some of the gems from the 80+ pictures taken.
