Going a little batty!

We had a special guest today: Batty Patty!

Batty Patty taught us so much about bats! Ask your child what they remember learning about bats being 'nocturnal' and using 'echolocation'.

We learned that bats flap their wings 20 times per second. We tried to mimic this, but realized that they are flapping very fast!

We learned that bats eat 600 bugs per hour. Over the course of a night, the number of bugs a bat would eat is equivalent to us eating 20 pizzas!

We did an echolocation dance

We also got to check out a variety of bat-related materials:

Ask your child about their favourite part of the bat presentation!
