A whole lot of creativity (and some biking too)

During a music lesson a few weeks ago, Miss Lizzy let us design our own instrument as a class. We then took that idea and designed individual instruments, adding as much detail and creativity as we wanted to our creations. This past week, we took our designs and used them to guide our instrument making using recycled materials. Of course, we then had to play them and pose as rock stars. Now, I realize that I should have apologized in advance for all of the recycling that is flooding your homes, but I hope the pure joy that came from this activity makes up for that!

We have been busy exploring different types of maps. We have enjoyed reading through My Map Book and expanding our idea of what a 'map' can be. This week, we created a 'Dream World Map', and there was such creativity and thought put into these maps. Looking at these pictures again, I find it very interesting to see where, how and with whom students worked on this task.

Friday was the long awaited Bike to Breakfast event! It was awesome seeing all of the bikers coming down the street, and the proud smiles on so many Kindergarten faces. The kids reported eating LOTS of yummy fruit and muffins, so thank you to all of the volunteers who brought goodies and helped make this event a success!
