We read the story, "Wanda's Freckles" this week. This story is linked with our No Putdowns program to help us learn Skill 1, "Think About Why". Students created their own mini book, and are very excited to walk you through the story at home! Please enjoy "reading" this book with your child at home, and then send it back to school so that they have it as a reading option with their Buddy Reader. Ask your child about: the story behind Wanda's Freckles (why she tries to cover her freckles, how the story ends), their Buddy Reader, the poems they have been reading (Everybody has a Name, Thank You, and Leaves, Leaves, Falling Down), and the books they are most interested in in the classroom!
