Beautiful Stuff Project

At the end of October, we had a class discussion about Show and Tell. We discovered that many students wanted to "do" Show and Tell, and we talked about the best way to organize this activity. We decided on filling a brown paper bag with items we thought were beautiful for a particular reason, but were items we were not particularly attached to in their current form. Students did an amazing job presenting their items to the class during the month of November, and the items brought in sparked a lot of discussion and creativity. At the beginning of December, I asked the students to put their items into a bucket with paint and glue to create an art piece with their "beautiful stuff".  I tried at first to capture a picture of each student as they worked through this project, but I got totally caught up in the experience! The students thoroughly enjoyed this process, and eagerly asked about presenting these pieces in a Gallery format. We will discuss this idea further early this week and let you know what we come up with. Stay tuned!
