Music and a special Mystery Reader!

We are absolutely loving our music classes with Miss Lizzy! This week, we showed her a special sneak preview of our Christmas concert song, and she showed us a new note: the half note! We learned that we hold this for two counts, and enjoyed playing around with rhythms involving half notes, quarter notes, and quarter rests. She also played us different types of music, asking us what we thought of each type and how they made us feel. Of course, she encouraged us to dance when she knew a song would make us want to move!

We also had a very special Mystery Reader on Friday. Tyson was SO excited to go down the hall and get his older brother Kyle to read to us! Kyle did a fabulous job reading the rhyming book he picked out for us, using a variety of voices and stopping to ask great questions along the way. All eyes were glued on him and you could hear a pin drop in the room for all 64 pages of his book! Of course, a group hug was an obvious choice at the end of the book. Maybe we will have to get him back in here to read again...!
