A peek at our last week!

In order to celebrate having a full class, we decided to create a group art project. Each child used a different colour of paint to create a body and then added details with sharpie!

Students took time last week to create a goal for themselves for 2016. I was very impressed by the thought they put into these ideas, and the effort they put into writing the words!

We read the book The Man With the Violin, and created art while listening to Joshua Bell playing his violin.

We then created Scribble Art during our music lesson with Miss Lizzy- it was challenging to keep our eyes closed while we listened to two different songs!

We have enjoyed exploring math concepts with a huge variety of classroom materials. We have been investigating ways to make 5, numbers up to 10, sequencing, sorting and classifying objects, and the concept of more than/less than.

We have begun listening to our first chapter book. The title is being kept a mystery, but we are learning a lot about the characters in the story. The main character, Mr. Popper, just received a delivery, and we drew what we thought it might be. Many students guessed "penguin", so we will find out when we read more tomorrow!
