A Winter Wonderland!

We totally took advantage of the incredible dump of snow on Wednesday, and worked hard to roll some huge snowballs and create walls for an "snow school house". I continue to be amazed by this group's ability to cooperate, share, and work together as a strong team. We worked on these projects for over an hour, and despite there only being 6 shovels to share amongst them all, they worked so well together and created something they were very proud of. When they were finished, they made an announcement about the "fort" in each of the classrooms and invited all of the other classes to help them add to it at lunch recess.

We had a great time with Frosty Flake for Winter Wonder today! She took us out to our fort area to look at various types of snowflakes (we found many "needles"!). She also had us form groups and find items to add to a snow sundae! We played a couple games out in the snow as well, and learned about animals that migrate, hibernate and stay in the winter. We also did a snow dance that is sure to bring more flakes!

When we went inside with Frosty Flake, she showed us a variety of furs and skulls that she borrowed from a Wildlife Biologist. Ask your child about what they saw and what they learned about these animals!
