A beautiful day for a ski!

We had a totally awesome time at the ski hill today! Blue skies, warm weather, and SNOW... what could be better?!

One of the coolest things to watch is kids learning to ski- that apprehension and fear that most have at the beginning, the shaky steps to start, the thrill of the first time taking the magic carpet, and that that burst-through-your-jacket joy they have when they come down the hill successfully. We had so many great parent volunteers who ran up and down the hill with kids, allowing them lots of opportunities to ski down from the top. The kids learned to shuffle their feet to move, and to "pizza" when they want to slow down or stop. Lots of the kids worked on moving through pylons too. The excitement filled the air today, and everywhere we looked, there was smiles stretched ear to ear!

We were amazed to see how many "skiers" we had in Kindergarten when making the groups. Since both of us were helping at the magic carpet, we didn't capture many of the kids on the t-bar or chairlift, but are hoping to get some pictures from parents to add here!

Thank you again to everyone for your support in making this a great day! The kids (and volunteers) will sleep well tonight!
