Simple Joys

During a workshop I attended this evening, I was reminded how important it is to nurture our souls and celebrate the simple joys of life. My ultimate goal each day is to make children feel loved, valued, and empowered. I enjoy experimenting with new activities and finding ways to bring happiness and laughter to our class community. As of lately, we have focused our energy on building a strong culture of respect and value within our group.

We enjoyed exploring the frosty bridge, the forest, and the hills near our school. We also enjoyed watching a male deer rub their antlers on a tree nearby.

We enjoyed coring and peeling apples with Mrs. Keiver, and problem solving when the apples we bought didn't work. We also enjoyed exploring the inside of a pumpkin and a spaghetti squash, digging the 'guts' out and separating the seeds to roast. We had such a delicious day of making and sampling spaghetti squash and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Since these activities were fairly messy, we don't have any pictures to show, so ask your child to describe these treats to you!

We learned more about fire safety with a visit from the local firefighters. They even brought their truck and showed us how high their ladder could go!
