Take Me Outside Day!

We had an amazing time celebrating Take Me Outside day today! Our class was buddied up with students from Ms. Kinsey's class, and then enjoyed moving between 8 outdoor stations. Students from the Outdoor Education class at Selkirk organized and ran the stations for us, and students from the Kimberley Alternate School joined us during our rotations. This collaboration was so neat to see in action, especially since the high school students took on a lot of the planning and prep work. It was also incredible to watch the interactions between the students- the smiles and laughter filled the air! Ask your child to tell you about their favourite stations, their buddy, and the other kids in their group.

Station #1: Digging for buried treasures in the garden

Station #2: Leaf jumping (and throwing!)

Station #3: Nature scavenger hunt

Station #4: Nature Detective Box

Station #5: Fort/structure building

 Station #6: Animal tag

Station #7: Snack (dried apples and arrowroot cookies)

Station #8: Rock art and drawing favourite outdoor activity

A HUGE thank you goes out to Jenn Meens, Dan Clark, and all of their students for helping to organize this day and make it run so smoothly!
